Mr. John White, who indeed designed the motif for our pennant and served the Centre for three years until Mr. L. R. Armstrong took office in 1974, succeeded Blon Hayes, as Chairman.
In May 1975 Bob presided over the 250th rally at Clevelode. During his period in office the “It’s a Knockout” rally was introduced and in its new guise, the “InterCentre Challenge Rally” provided friendly rivalry between the participating local Centres, competing for the Bob Armstrong Trophy.
In 1977 Mr. Colin Davis was elected to the Chair, serving for the following three years and was a very active member with his wife Kath.
Colin served our Centre continuously for twenty-one years on committee. In 1979 we returned to Malvern to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Centre’s foundation. Past Club Chairman David Knight was in attendance with other dignitaries who were present at the Inaugural rally. In September 1979 the 500th rally took place with 250 outfits attending.

10TH ANNIVERSARY
In 1968 the Midland Centre of the Caravan Club comprised of three groups, namely Birmingham, West Warwickshire and Worcestershire. On September 8th of that year three separate Centres were conceived and on 1st January 1969 became the individual Centres we know today.
The inaugural Chairman of the Worcestershire Centre was Mr. E.H. (Blon) Hayes, who rose to the position of Caravan Club Vice Chairman for a number of years, an achievement of which the Centre is very proud. The original membership of the Centre was 966. One hundred and fifty caravans attended the first rally, at Blackmore Park Farm, Malvern, where the assistant Bishop of Worcester blessed the Centre Pennant. The Pennant design includes the County Arms, described as ‘Argent issuant from a mount of water’, Barrywave at base, a pear tree fructed sable; meaning a pear tree with black pears out of the Malvern Hills with the River Severn at base.
